Deliberately Design Your Professional Presence
Teleseminar taught by Meggin McIntosh
Recorded on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:30 (Pacific)
Full Description of Teleseminar:
All participants receive handouts to accompany the class and a recording of the class so you can listen later to reinforce your learning.
Here’s the information that will help you decide if this is for you:
Impression. Feeling. Notion. Bearing. Message.
What is the overall presence that you currently convey? Is it the presence you want or is there something different you want to impart to others and somehow it’s not getting across?
You can deliberately design the professional presence you want. It’s not about plastic surgery. It’s about your materials, your demeanor, your phone messages, your emails, your stationery, your attire, your responsibility, your voice, and so forth. It’s a package and you can decide what that package will be.
In this teleseminar, I’ll share ideas with you for how and why to be attentive, conscious, and mindful of your professional presence.
Have you been putting off dealing with these details of professional life? Now is the time to make the effort.
If you are registrant in the Make a Difference class, you are automatically enrolled in the teleseminar (or will receive the recording). Others who want to receive the recording may just click here and you’ll be taken to a secure shopping cart where you can complete your purchase.

Knowing (and Operating from) Your Strengths
Presented by Meggin McIntosh
Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:30 Pacific
Full Description of Teleseminar:
**Who: Professionals who want to know what their strengths are–and then know how to operate from those strengths (rather than forever trying to fix “weaknesses”).
**What: Teleseminar: “Knowing (and Operating from) Your Strengths”
**When: Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:30 Pacific.
**Where: Via telephone (and it will be recorded for later listening) so you can take part in this class from anywhere!
**Why: You expend a tremendous amount of energy every day doing the work that you do and keeping up with your personal commitments. What if you could expend the same amount of energy–and be even more successful? Or, what if you expended less energy each day–and were even more successful than you are now? Wouldn’t that be worth learning more about?
**How? To register for the class, just click here. (Note: Those who have already been accepted into the Make a Difference seminars are automatically registered for this teleseminar).
A little more information to help you decide:
I work from a strengths-based model. The best instrument I have ever found to help people identify their strengths and know “why” they need to operate from these strengths is the Gallup Organization’s StrengthsFinder(R) Instrument.
In this teleseminar, I will introduce you to the StrengthsFinder(R) instrument, give an overview of the model, and provide some direction on what to do next.
Bonus: If you register at least a week in advance, you will receive a copy of the new book *StrengthsFinder 2.0* as part of your registration fee (just $39) and it will be mailed to you so that you receive it before the teleseminar. You do not need to have read the book prior to the workshop, but it will be great if you have done so–and you will want to have it handy regardless.
Another great resource is *Now, Discover Your Strengths* by Donald Clifton and Marcus Buckingham, so if you have read that one or have it available, that would be good, because I do refer to that one, too.
Remember, all registrants will receive the book *StrengthsFinder 2.0*, handouts, and a recording of the teleseminar. Don’t miss out.
Be ready to listen, ask questions, and make notes throughout the class. And expect to have some of your long-held beliefs ‘questioned.’
Thanks! I hope you will be joining me for the learning.

“Setting Up Your Business: The Have-to & Nice-to-Have’s”
Presented by Meggin McIntosh
Recorded on Friday, May 2, 2008
Description:
You might be setting up a business “on the side,” that is, you intend to keep your “day job” but you want to earn extra money and you want to know the benefits of setting up a home-based business. Or, maybe you are ready to take the leap and set yourself up to operate completely out of your own company.
Whichever of these two describes you and your situation, this teleseminar will provide some ideas for what you definitely will need to do and for what it would be worth thinking about doing.
Note: I am neither an attorney nor a CPA. I cannot and will not offer legal advice. I can tell you what I have learned through nearly a dozen years of owning my own company, both as a side business and now as a full-time business. Tune in for information that will help you do the same.

Determining Your Value: Energy Charting
Presented by Meggin McIntosh
Recorded on Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Description:
I’ve been all about ‘energy’ for a number of years…and came up with the idea of creating an energy chart one morning (about 4 a.m.) when I was driving to Jackpot, Nevada. I realized that all speaking opportunities ‘are not created equal.’ Clear differences exist between doing work ‘here’ and doing work ‘there.’
The purpose of this teleseminar is to introduce you to the idea of an energy chart and to help you think about how you can chart the energy you expend (and/or gain) from various professional and personal endeavors.
Your professional energy chart can help you determine appropriate fees to charge for similar (but not identical) activities. Your personal energy chart will give you the wherewithal to say ‘no’ or ‘yes’ to activities without feeling a tinge of guilt.
Be ready to listen, ask questions, and make notes throughout the class.

Making a Break for It!
Presented by Meggin McIntosh
Recorded on Saturday, April 19, 2008
**Who: Professionals who know they have skills, talents, and strengths to offer, but whose skills, talents, and strengths aren’t being tapped into through their current position.
**What: Teleseminar: “Making a Break for It”
**When: Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Pacific. (1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Eastern). Just click to register (you’ll be taken to my secure shopping cart for checkout).
**Where: Recorded so you can take listen to this class from anywhere!
**Why: Because it’s taking more energy for you to “go to work” than you receive by “being at work.” And, because you find some appeal to “being on your own” as a speaker, consultant, research, small business owner, or whatever your niche is.
**How? To register for the class, just click here. (Note: Those who have already been accepted into the Make a Difference seminars are automatically registered for this teleseminar).
A little more information to help you decide:
Is it time for you to ‘make a break for it?’
Are you at least interested in pursuing the concept of this (and no one else needs to know you’re doing so!)
Then, consider this teleseminar offered by Dr. Meggin McIntosh, who did indeed ‘make a break for it.’ She left her safe, secure, great job as a tenured, full professor at a university…and hasn’t regretted it for a moment.
Do you have what it takes? Does it matter to you whether your life is as good as it can be? Consider these and other questions in this teleseminar with Meggin.

Obstacle Illusions–Are You Delusional? Strategically Plan (and Play) Your Professional and Personal Life for 2008
Presented by Meggin McIntosh
Recorded on Monday, December 17, 2008 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. (Pacific)
People who are already registered for one of the Make a Difference seminars in 2008 receive this class as part of their registration.
“Life is full of obstacle illusions.” (Grant Frazier)
These “obstacle illusions” block your view of the possibilities. As you near the close of 2007–get ready to peer into 2008. Together, let’s clear your view so you can see further and know how to get there, too.
This special teleseminar, led by Meggin McIntosh, is for those unique individuals who know they are meant for something more–and want support, guidance, and clarity on what that is and how to get there.
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about whether ‘Obstacle Illusions’ are obstructing your view of what is possible. When you register, you will be sent directions on how to come prepared to the class. It’s not a lot of work–but it will start the process of getting you to see through those “obstacle illusions.”
If you want 2008 to be an improvement upon, different from, or more than 2007 was (either for yourself, your work, your family, and/or your life), then you need to mindfully and deliberately make plans for that to happen.
Philip Adams said: “When people say to me: ‘How do you do so many things?’ I often answer them, without meaning to be cruel: ‘How do you do so little?’ It seems to me that people have vast potential. Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks. Yet most people don’t. They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever.”
Get moving. Get clear. Get registered for the teleseminar. The cost is only $39 and includes:
Call-in information so you can be ‘live’ on the teleseminar;
An extensive packet of resources, which you’ll be able to download prior to the class; and
An MP3 download to listen to after the class (and you can listen as many times as you need and want to) as a way to reinforce your resolve.
The size of the teleseminar will be limited, so reserve your space now.
Please forward this email to those you know who might want to make changes for themselves for 2008.
I look forward to hearing you on the call! Those who register will receive all the preparation, call-in, handout, recording, and follow-up info.
Other upcoming teleseminar topics may include:
•• “Making a Break for It!”
• “Determining Your Value: Energy Charting Your Professional and Personal Life”
• “Developing a Curriculum Vita”
• “Knowing and Operating From Your Strengths”
• “Setting Up Your Business: The Have-to-Have’s and the Nice-to-Have’s”
• “I Just Want to be Whelmed: Maintaining a Vibrant Work Life”
• “Maximizing Your Marketing Efforts (When You’re Short of Cash and Clients)”
Note: If you want to continue to preview the Make a Difference workshops but have
not yet applied (and been accepted) into the 2008 cadre of participants, you will be able
to register for the teleseminars for a fee (usually $47 – $97). As each of the telesem-
inars are scheduled, information will be available here or on the www.meggin.com site,
so check back if you are interested in one or more of these learning opportunities.
